Pranoto Reksosamudro : ウィキペディア英語版 | Pranoto Reksosamudro Major General Pranoto Reksosamodra (16 April 1923 – 9 June 1992) was an Indonesian Army general who was briefly army chief of staff and was detained for 15 years without trial for alleged involvement in the 30 September Movement coup attempt. ==Early life and military career== Pranoto was born in Bagelen, Purworejo, Central Java, the ninth of ten children. He completed his elementary education in 1937 and studied at the Muhammadiyah Dutch middle school in Yogyakarta until 1940. He then studied to be a teacher, graduating in 1943, after which he decided to join the PETA militia, which had been established by the Japanese forces then occupying the Dutch East Indies. He moved up through the ranks, and fought in the Indonesian War of Independence. He graduated from the Indonesian Army Commando Staff School in 1957, and occupied a number of posts, including commander of the Dipenogoro Area Military Command from 1959 - 1961. From 1962 to 1965 he was third assistant to the Minister/Army Commander, Ahmad Dani. with the rank of major general.〔Imelda Bachtiar (2014) pp. xix-xxii〕
